A one day CPD workshop with Martyn Lloyd
Saturday 28th September 2019
5 hours CPD
This workshop offers a brief introduction and overview of the key interventions of Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) – an approach developed initially by Steve de Shazer and his wife Insoo Kim Berg at the Brief Family Therapy Centre in Milwaukee, USA.
Contrary to common belief, the model was not developed in response to demands for time-limited therapy but was derived from close observation and recording of those interventions that clients found most helpful.
More of a method than a theory, SFBT has become a popular model not only in the world of therapy, but in related fields such as coaching.
The workshop aims to provide participants with practical skills and offers opportunities for the observation, practise and discussion of the principal interventions of SFBT. Handouts and resources for further learning will be provided.
