Adrian Collman will provide a professional environment where clients will feel valued, listened to and well supported. His empathetic method of counselling will ensure that clients develop their own sense of self-worth and will feel comfortable to openly discuss difficult and painful issues. Adrian has an integrative approach whereby clients can draw on their own experiences and resources to enable them to live a more satisfying life. He will always adopt a style which suits the personal needs of the individual client. This may be CBT, so that individuals can address unhealthy patterns in their thoughts and actions. It may also be a person-centred approach so that the client is more actively involved in exploring their past and developing their own, more healthy responses.
With a background as a Deputy Headmaster, Mentor, Child Protection Officer and Family Liaison Support Worker, Adrian has a vast degree of experience in both workplace and personal issues and the impact they have on life. He understands the internal and external pressures that we are under and how it can lead to unhelpful coping strategies. He works in partnership with his clients to get a clearer understanding of situations in order to identify healthier ways of managing these emotions and stresses.
Adrian is an integrative counsellor who is registered with the BACP. He works within The Awareness Centre where he sees NHS patients for counselling at a GP surgery in Lambeth. Adrian is currently working towards an advanced diploma in integrative counselling having previously achieved qualifications in Therapeutic Counselling and Psychotherapy.
