  • Depression

Ahrany Balasingham offers a warm, empathetic, and non-judgemental relationship in which clients can explore their difficulties and distress. She believes that counselling can help the clients to reconnect with their inner values, and sense of self-worth to develop their full potential. Ahrany has a person centred approach, where she would assist the clients to explore their own issues, feelings, beliefs and worldview to become more self-aware, and progress towards growth. Ahrany will be applying the core principles of unconditional positive regard, empathy, and congruence to help clients openly learn about themselves in an authentic way. Her approach is non-directive, and the client is invited to direct the pace and content of the sessions, in a safe environment.

With a variety of experience in the field of counselling and psychology, Ahrany has an interest in trauma and holistic healing. She understands the effects of trauma, and how it interferes with an individual’s ability to lead a normal life. She aims to offer a safe environment for the client to process their traumatic experiences, and take steps towards positive changes. She has experience in supporting people with anger, anxiety, and depression. She also specializes in dealing with bereavement and loss.

Ahrany is a Counselling Psychologist trainee, and is a member of BACP and BPS. She works within The Awareness Centre, and sees NHS patients for counselling at Jubilee East Health Centre in Sutton. Ahrany is currently working towards a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology.
