Alessia Ranieri provides a non-judgemental space where clients can open up and feel seen and appreciated for who they are. Alessia is very respectful of personal differences. She strongly believes that each individual is unique, and that uniqueness must be nurtured and valued. Her counselling approach provides an opportunity for clients to get to know themselves better and enrich their potential. From her perspective, counselling is courageous venture where the client and the counsellor board together as travelling partners. The journey is an opportunity to face the client’s difficulties and struggles and together find new ways of dealing with those.
Alessia has been in clinical practice for many years working with people experiencing a broad range of issues, from physical pains and discomfort (i.e. IBD) to relational difficulties, anxiety, depression, isolation, as well as work related issues. Her counselling approach is based on Personal Construct Psychology (Kelly, 1955). She uses the dialogue as a way to comprehend the underlying reasons of the person’s choices and construe new ways of dealing with difficult circumstances or emotions such as sadness, fear, anger, guilt, loneliness, shame, grief, panic or threat.
Alessia is a Counselling Psychologist registered with HCPC. She works as a private practitioner at The Awareness Centre in Clapham. She is about to complete a Diploma in Psychotherapy (to be accredited UKCP) and a PhD in Leadership Development.
Alessia offers sessions in English and Italian.
