Alex MacLeish believes in providing a calm, accepting and empathic space, where clients can truly be themselves, without judgement. She believes that each of us has a unique soul nature that gets lost or distorted by our life experiences. The aim of the therapy is to help the client find their true nature. Alex has an Integrative Transpersonal approach, which means she draws on several ways of working according to what her clients need, and she tailors her approach to the individual client. Transpersonal Psychotherapy builds and expands on the client’s strengths and qualities, helping the client to sense the right direction towards fulfilment and achievement in life. Alex is a present and holding therapist and will meet the client wherever they are.
With a background in publishing, Alex is interested in the client’s creative side and using the creative imagination to explore their inner world. She also has experience in relationship management of clients in the workplace, and how mental health issues can affect our work. She specialises in anxiety, depression, bereavement and suicidal ideation. Alex understands how difficult and scary it is to start therapy for the first time, but she believes that everyone can benefit from therapy. She will provide a holding space for clients to open up.
Alex is an Integrative Psychotherapist, working with a Transpersonal approach. She works within The Awareness Centre’s low-cost counselling service in Clapham.
