Amara welcomes clients to express their feelings and supports them in exploring their sense of self. She provides a warm and empathic environment for the client to feel safe to work through some issues they may be facing. Amara uses an integrative approach in her counselling, drawing on models such as Gestalt and Transactional Analysis. She understands the lived experience of those she has worked with by accepting their challenges and working together to understand healthier coping mechanisms. She does this using a person-centred approach to best suit each client. Amara recognises how important it is to process and regulate your emotions and she works with the clients on this journey.

Amara has experience in working with people with ASD and those experiencing mental health issues.

Amara is an integrative counsellor trainee and a member with the BACP. She is working with the Low Cost Counselling Service in Clapham. Through her studies she has completed an undergraduate degree in Psychology and gained a certificate in counselling. She is currently working towards a diploma in integrative counselling and is in her final year.
