Ameepurva Thaker works to provide a supportive and empathic space where the clients can feel safe, seen and can be heard. She works with clients to help enable more clarity and direction, and hopes to help them find their own path to overcome any difficulties they may have. Within the therapeutic space, Ameepurva hopes to help the client feel more empowered and hopes to help them improve their personal and professional relationships. Ameepurva believes that everyone is unique and that each individual has something special that needs to be nurtured. She believes the courage that comes from a client to begin this journey is admirable and with the counsellor and client collaborating together, she believes the journey can be beneficial for the client. Ameepurva uses a humanistic approach which is tailored to the individuals’ needs.
In the past, Ameepurva has worked within the charity sector and the mental health field. She has experience working with depression, PTSD and family issues. She has also worked with domestic and sexual abuse, working with both child and adult trauma. She has a particular interest in cross-cultural trauma.
Ameepurva is training towards her Masters in Transactional Analysis as a psychotherapist and is a member of UKCP and BAATN. She works within The Awareness Centre’s NHS Lambeth counselling service.
