Andrea is an integrative Counsellor allowing her to draw on various counselling approaches which can benefit her clients. Andrea has used the Person-Centred approach along with CBT and Psychodynamic Counselling believing the importance of providing a safe supportive space for clients to have a voice to not only be listened to but heard. This allows clients to be able to address painful and difficult thoughts and feelings that can hinder them from moving forward. Andrea believes that therapy helps towards her clients’ development by allowing them to unlock their potential. Helping clients with self-esteem issues, anxiety, trauma and bereavement and loss are of particular interest. Andrea works towards helping her clients living a more fulfilled satisfying life whilst learning to trust the process of their counselling journey.
Andrea has over 20 years working for law firms in the city. Working in a highly pressured job she understands how challenging stressful situations can have a negative impact on peoples’ lives. She understands from working with clients without good coping strategies in place can placed them under considerable pressure which can potentially cause long term damage. She strives to find healthier and manageable ways of helping clients deal with their emotions and stressful situations. In addition, Andrea was a volunteer for Victim Support offering clients emotional and practical help, facilitated emotional support groups for men and women giving them a safe space to be themselves and free of judgment. She has also volunteered as a mentor in a male prison.
Andrea is an integrative counsellor and is registered with the BACP. Andrea is currently is currently training and is working towards a BSc degree in Counsellor and Coaching. She has a Certificate of Higher Education in Counselling and Counselling Skills. She works within The Awareness Centre’s low-cost counselling service in Clapham.
