Angela Mcculloch has studied as an integrative counsellor, integrating the humanistic and psychodynamic approaches. This helps her to work with you in the present addressing current concerns in an empathic non judgmental manner while making connections to patterns of relating to issues from the past. She does this by focusing on building a relationship with the client based on trust and respect placing you, the client at the center of the work allowing you to direct and lead the sessions at your own pace.
Her previous experience is of working with clients in an abstinence recovery hostel, working with clients in early stages of recovery from alcohol and drug addictions. Angela works for a charity who support homeless clients to address their addictions and take responsibility for their behaviours and learn new healthier ways or relating so they can rejoin the community and start building new futures or rebuild their family relationships. Angela understands how challenging it can be to pick up the pieces and rebuild a life, the fears of facing an unknown future while carrying guilt and shame from their past. Angela provides a space to voice anxieties and concerns and acknowledge the shame to help you move forward. Her approach is tailored to the individual client.
Angela is an Integrative Student Counsellor and is registered with the BACP. She works within The Awareness Centre’s NHS Service in Wandsworth. Angela is currently working towards a diploma in integrative counselling.
