Anjali Puri believes in the capacity of every person to live authentically and wholeheartedly, and be true to who they are. Everyone goes through difficult periods in life and sometimes we need a bit of help to find our balance again. Counselling and psychotherapy help us process uncomfortable or painful experiences, and can also put us more deeply in touch with who we are, enabling us to live a richer, fuller life. Anjali uses a flexible, empathic approach that is tailored to what her clients need. She draws primarily from Transactional Analysis, creating an open, transparent and supportive environment where she works in partnership with her clients towards agreed goals. She sees psychotherapy as a process of finding and celebrating the unique spirit of every individual.

Before training as a psychotherapist, Anjali spent 25 years working as a qualitative researcher in the area of human motivation and decision-making. She has worked across many cultures and has particular interest in the stresses created by today’s workplace, the pace of change that we are all coping with, and the challenges of navigating cultural differences. She works to help people achieve a deeper understanding of how they make choices, and how they can learn to choose in ways that promote their wellbeing. She also has a special interest in bereavement and loss, depression and issues of isolation and loneliness. Anjali is bilingual and works in English and Hindi.

Anjali is a psychotherapist with a BA (Hons) degree in psychology and holds a certificate in counselling skills. She is registered with UKATA and works within The Awareness Centre’s low-cost counselling service in Clapham and NHS service in Wandsworth. Anjali is currently working towards a Masters degree in psychotherapy, specialising in Transactional Analysis.
