Anna Jurek is a counselling psychologist (HCPC registered) as well as an integrative child and adolescent counsellor who supports young people to safely express and explore their feelings by using the Arts, imagination and play. Anna’s counselling approach is also guided by neuroscience findings and Polyvagal Theory – especially useful when working with trauma and anxiety. Anna’s approach is integrative and she is using the CBT approach. Thus, counselling can help children and adolescents gain a better understanding of themselves and others whilst building resilience and promoting emotional wellbeing. Anna also provides sessions for parents to help them to understand their child’s needs and how to respond to them and support them during the counselling process. She has a calm, supportive and pragmatic approach, which is supportive for parents who are worried about their child and feel lost in their role.

Anna holds a Masters in Applied Psychology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling. Her background in cross-cultural psychology means that she understands diversity and anxiety related to cross-cultural and racial/ethnic identity issues.

Anna has experience working for Place2Be, Relate and currently works for CAMHS.

Anna is a professional member of the British Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists (MBACP) and adheres to the BACP Code of Ethics; maintaining confidentiality and following relevant safeguarding procedures where necessary. She holds a full professional liability insurance and an up-to-date DBS (Disclosures and Barring service) certificate. Anna is also available to undertake adolescent sessions via Zoom.
