Anne Laugel prioritises the development of a trusting therapeutic relationship within which clients feel accepted, valued and respected at a time when they are particularly vulnerable. She provides a warm, safe and confidential space for them to feel free to explore their thoughts, feelings and all aspects of their life without fear of judgement.
Anne uses an integrative approach drawing on different counselling theories to help each client appropriately, such as adopting a psychodynamic approach to look at difficulties from the past as well as the present. With greater awareness, self-compassion and her support, Anne believes that clients will feel empowered to identify alternative coping strategies and ultimately lead a happier more satisfying life. Her holistic approach to well-being promotes the use of mindfulness, meditation, healthy eating and physical activity as well as the the restorative power of creative arts in people’s healing process.
Anne’s background is in marketing and the creative arts. She understands the internal and external pressures felt by people in highly stressful work or personal environments and the stress, anxiety and maladaptive behaviours they may bring. She has a special interest in the areas of workplace issues, life transitions, depression as well as emotional abuse and associated trauma.
Anne is a trainee integrative counsellor working towards an advanced diploma in therapeutic counselling. She is a member of the BACP and abides by its ethical principles and guidelines. She sees clients within the low-cost counselling service in Clapham. She offers therapy in English, French and German.
