Arlene Davis is a warm, empathic and non-judgemental trainee counsellor, who provides her clients with an environment in which they can accomplish change and personal growth. Arlene focuses on supporting clients to understand their emotions, their past and relational patterns, to explore new ways of relating to themselves and interacting with others.
Arlene’s approach is Integrative:she adopts elements from the Person-Centred approach, offering clients empathy and confidence to create a safe space, to build trust and speak at depth about their true inner self; and incorporates elements from the Psychodynamic modality to look at past events and how they impact on current events, with the aim to work through them and achieve the client’s desired goals.
With a background in teaching, firefighting and health care, Arlene has experience working with trauma and loss, and with individuals with challenging behaviours, low self-esteem, and anxiety disorders.
Arlene is a trainee counsellor, presently working towards a diploma in therapeutic counselling. She is a student member of the BACP and works within The Awareness Centre’s NHS counselling service, seeing NHS patients for counselling in Lambeth.
