Attila Kent provides a supportive, empathic space in which clients can feel safe to open up and explore emotions and thoughts that may be holding them in place. He aims to help them identify and resolve issues and patterns that have formed so that they can move forward in their life, building and developing a sense of self that strengthens their self-worth in a positive way. Attila works in a psychodynamic manner. Whilst the work may be challenging, it aims to aid clients in developing a stronger self, build firmer relationships and deal with anxiety or depression, subsequently helping them develop solidity and an ability to choose their own path despite the hurdles or obstacles placed in front of them.
With a background in the performing arts and work in the business sector, Attila has an interest in emotional issues and their effect on our day to day lives and relationships. He looks to explore them and see how we can utilise these, to better affect our lives. In his corporate work he was responsible for training and development. Through this he gained an interest in personal development and understands the pressures placed on individuals by themselves and others to perform in high pressure situations and the emotional impacts that can arise. He works to help clients manage these pressures so that they have more control in their lives and specialises in depression and anxiety.
Attila is a psychodynamic counsellor holding a CertHE in counselling and is currently training towards an MSc in psychodynamic counselling. He is working within The Awareness centre’s low-cost counselling service in Clapham and is in the process of applying to become a member of the BACP.
