Aysha provides a safe and supportive environment where clients feel comfortable exploring thoughts and feelings. Aysha works as an integrative counsellor, she provides a client-centred approach – this means she provides the support and tools for the client to explore their needs, goals, thoughts and behaviours. In using an integrative approach this allows Aysha to make the therapy sessions goal orientated for the individual needs, using a variety of techniques to help clients. Aysha may use CBT to help clients change negative thought patterns whilst using the psychodynamic approach to understand distressing thoughts and feelings. Aysha may incorporate some mindfulness and body-based techniques to help reduce anxiety and stress. This creates a flexible dynamic therapy experience that can adapt to the unique needs of each client.

Aysha has many years of experience working with the community, organising youth clubs and as an emotional support worker for community helplines. Aysha also has experience working with women in domestic abuse and trauma-related situations. This has helped her develop an empathetic and safe space for clients, as  Aysha understands the demands and impact of family life and work may have on an individual. Aysha has a clinical psychology background which enables her to look at evidence-based therapeutic interventions, and provide care and support in helping clients overcome difficulties and lead more fulfilling lives.

Aysha Mubarak is a trainee Counsellor & Psychotherapist that holds a BSc in Clinical Psychology. She is a registered member of the BACP and the BPS (British Psychological Society). She is actively working towards her Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. Aysha is currently working within The Awareness Centre NHS counselling services in Sutton.
