Azeema Rasheed
Azeema Rasheed works within an Integrative approach which means she utilises different ways of working with clients, tailored to their unique individual needs. She draws from one or more approaches such as Person-centred, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt and Solution-focused Therapy, so as to help clients understand their challenging thoughts, feelings and experiences. Her passion and commitment as a counsellor is to support and work with clients collaboratively and focus on them as a whole person rather than solely on the issues being presented. Azeema delivers a client-led approach which means that she keeps to the client’s objective and explores only what they are ready for. She offers warmth and generous empathy in a safe, confidential, non-judgemental and creative space. Clients are supported to be and bring their whole selves within the therapeutic relationship in order to enable them to realise and develop their potential to take the steps for positive change and growth in their lives. Azeema believes being truly heard is empowering and helps to create a powerful base for understanding oneself, recognising negative patterns and increasing self-esteem.
Having a background of over 30 years in finance in management roles, Azeema has first-hand experience with helping those having workplace issues and also personal issues. She has helped to resolve conflicts within the workplace as well as help manage work/life balance. Azeema is also volunteering at the Samaritans and has the skills to work with those in immediate crisis or experiencing suicidal feelings.
Azeema is currently working towards an advanced diploma in integrative counselling.
Azeema is an Integrative counsellor and is registered with the BACP and BPS. She sees clients from GP surgeries within Lambeth.
