Beatriz Cadavid uses person-centred, psychodynamic and CBT modalities integrated into her practice and facilitates clients’ explorations according to their ability and needs. She may use an understanding of CBT approaches to challenge maladaptive beliefs or behaviours or analyse problems through a psychodynamic lens to help clients discover how their past may be informing their present. Beatriz aims to create a non-judgemental and safe space where clients can feel heard, while digging as gently, or deeply, as they need or wish. Furthermore, she believes it is important not to underestimate the client’s lifespan development, life transitions and social circumstances on presenting problems.
Beatriz’s background as a certified professional life coach has enabled her to develop a style that accesses deep insights by working with the whole person, ultimately resulting in expanded client self-awareness. Integrating this style within a Counselling framework can be especially useful for maximising short-term work. Her experience includes working with a broad range of client challenges from seeking confidence and adapting to change, to depression and anxiety. She currently has a growing interest in trauma, bullying and isolation.
Beatriz is a trainee counsellor working towards a BSc (Hons) Counselling degree and BACP accreditation. She currently works with patients at a GP surgery in Wandsworth within The Awareness Centre’s NHS counselling service. Her philosophy is that our problems do not define us and therapy provides individuals with space to acknowledge how everyday life may be impacting them and perhaps help unravel or make sense of any problems they feel they may have.
Beatriz offers therapy in English and Spanish.
