Ben Clegg provides a holding space of deep empathy which allow clients to feel safe and able to communicate freely and be seen. Ben believes the human condition wants to be witnessed and that clients want to be seen and heard. Ben believes all clients experience in the world is as unique as the individual they are and so endeavours to ‘meet a client in the space they find themselves.’ Ben draws on an integrative stance so may use a Gestalt approach to explore a client’s ‘stuckness’ or make a creative space where the client can draw, sing or express themselves in the way they see fit. Ben firmly believes an individual is the only expert on themselves yet all of us need a space to make sense and process behaviours that do not serve them.
Ben has worked in the financial service sector for over 15 years managing teams and has a keen passion for diversity and inclusion. He has always had an interest in the human condition leading him to want to become a psychotherapist. Ben has a particular interest in working with the impact of guilt and shame, anxiety, family & relationships and bereavement and the wider issues of loss.
Ben is a trainee psychotherapist, working towards a masters in Integrative Psychotherapy. He is currently on placement with The Awareness Centre’s low cost counselling service in Tooting, and also sees NHS patients at a GP surgery in Wandsworth.
