Carolina Sammartino provides a safe and supportive space where her clients can explore any problems they have. Her work is relational and it is based on the principle that having authentic, meaningful and mutual relationships with others is a crucial cornerstone of emotional mental health. She shares the client’s journey, using the client-therapist relationship to better understand their way of dealing with life. Carolina’s psychotherapeutic approach is Transactional Analysis, an integrative modality where the practitioner chooses the best or most appropriate ideas and techniques from a range of theories and models, including behavioural techniques, psychoanalytic theories, person centred and humanistic approaches.
With a background in finance, Carolina has an interest and experience in workplace and communication issues. It is only by understanding our way of behaving, feeling and thinking that we can also understand how we relate to others. Through therapy, the client realises what is getting in the way and is empowered to change in order to achieve a more fulfilling life and reach their full potential. Carolina also specialises in anxiety and depression, trauma and has a special interest in Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
Carolina is a member of the UKCP and she is working towards full accreditation with the BACP. She is trilingual and offers therapy in English, Italian and Spanish. She currently offers therapy at a GP surgery in Lambeth, working with The Awareness Centre’s NHS counselling service. She is working towards an MSc in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy and she will complete a PgDip in Autism and Asperger Syndrome at the Sheffield Hallam University in 2019.
