Cassia Gallas provides a safe, understanding, non-judgmental and empathic environment where clients can feel supported and heard. She believes that counselling is extremely important to provide the support needed in difficult times, and is also a way to bring out the best qualities of clients to enable them to thrive in life. Cassia has an integrative approach, which means that the sessions will be tailored for the client using the tools that work best. The base of her work is Person-centered therapy, which means that the client is the expert and the therapist helps them to identify possible adjustments needed throughout the process.
With a background as biologist, Cassia has a scientific knowledge of the way brains work. She understands how difficult life events might interfere with the brain and mind and hopes to enable clients to make small adjustments to improve their quality of life and their relationships. Cassia has lived in Brazil, Portugal, Australia and England. All those experiences brought her an ability to empathise and adjust to the client’s reality and culture, as well as a capacity to help clients improve their communication skills and conflict resolution. Cassia has a special interest in working with self-esteem, relationship and sex issues.
Cassia is an integrative counsellor and is a member at the BACP. She works within The Awareness Centre’s NHS service in Lambeth and within the Low Cost Service in Tooting. Cassia is working towards a Certificate in Counselling and Psychotherapy with progression to a Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy. She offers therapy in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
