Cat Allen is the Counselling Manager for The Awareness Centre (TAC). She has overall responsibility for recruiting placement therapists and for managing the Low Cost Counselling Service at TAC.
Cat is a BACP-accredited therapist and supervisor with extensive experience and training. An early career in mental health led to her taking a first degree in psychology and then training as an integrative counsellor. Cat specialises in attachment, trauma, complex trauma and mental health. She believes that learning is life-long and is currently enhancing her skills to become an EMDR therapist.
Cat has always been passionate about working with people. She has more than 12 years’ experience working in third sector and private organisations, as well as 8 years’ management experience working within the Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse charity, and 3 years’ management experience within the Looked After Sector.
Cat’s knowledge and expertise ensures that she can effectively facilitate groups, whether in supervision or training, and embraces a range of modalities and theories. She believes that working together as a team is key to supporting both organisational and personal development.
