Celine Stonex-Kennedy
Celine Stonex-Kennedy is an accredited play therapist by the British Association of Play Therapy (BAPT). At the Awareness Centre in Clapham, Celine provides 1:1 therapy for children and adolescents presenting with a wide range of difficulties (eg. trauma, attachment difficulties, loss, neurodiversity, anxiety, self-esteem and emotional regulation). Celine has extensive experience working with a variety of children in therapeutic schools, primary and secondary schools, clinics, nurseries, and online platforms.
Celine is an empathic and creative therapist that follows an integrative, holistic, and child-centred approach to help children and families overcome various challenges. Celine’s non-judgmental approach enables her to build trusting and meaningful relationships with young people and their families. Her goal is to empower her clients to develop their resilience, coping skills, and wellbeing.
Whilst creating a safe and confidential space, Celine draws on different therapeutic approaches. Her main therapeutic approach is a humanistic one as she is very much led by what the child brings to the space, whilst also integrating some psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy and some mentalisation based work. Celine works systemically, and strongly believes in working and supporting all those around the young person in order to see the most significant and long lasting change.
