Cheryl Woodcock believes, in unprecedented times like these, that there has never been more need for people to have extra support in their busy lives. Cheryl offers a confidential, trusting but welcoming environment in which her clients have a safe space to explore their issues, with no judgment or bias, in order to help their personal growth and bring about change. Cheryl is an integrative practitioner, which means she is able to approach each client with different tools and with what might be useful to them, their individual situation and their personality. Cheryl wants to help empower her clients to heal, find peace and find their authentic self. She does this by using either person-centred theory, which is non-directive and client led, or by using psychodynamic theory to piece together and understand feelings, patterns of behaviour and problems in the present that might come from the past.
Cheryl has worked in the media industry for over 20 years before starting her journey into counselling and thus has worked with many different people from all walks of life. Cheryl also has experience as a career coach, runs a Mum’s network with over 600 women and has supported women going on and returning from maternity leave in her industry. She also has experience in supporting those going through infertility.
Cheryl is a student member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She is currently training as a Counsellor, working towards accreditation and completion of a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Integrative Model), whilst working within The Awareness Centre’s Low-Cost Counselling Service in Tooting.
