Cholpon offers a confidential, welcoming and safe space where you can explore whatever is troubling you, such as anxiety, low mood or relationship issues. The foundation of Cholpon’s approach is to build a positive and empathic relationship with the client which leads to healing and transformation. She believes that each person is unique and valuable. She helps her clients to find that uniqueness and value in themselves, using a tailored approach for each client.
Cholpon works in an integrative way which means she can draw upon different approaches in counselling: the person-centred approach, in which there is no judgment, and the counsellor provides empathy and full acceptance of the person for what he or she is; psychodynamic approach which looks at deeper understanding of the person; and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) which looks at behavioural patterns and how they relate to your current thinking habits.
Cholpon is a trainee counsellor. Cholpon started working at the Awareness Centre in October 2020. Prior to that she worked at Carers Lewisham. She worked with people who had severely ill or vulnerable people in the family. It is hard to witness someone’s illness knowing that you can only help them by being next to them, taking care of them and trying to give them a better quality of life. This experience could be very consuming. Cholpon helped the carers by providing counselling to them.
Prior to her counselling career she worked in the banking sector. She also has experience in running her own business. She understands the demands of running your business as well as the pressure of working for someone else. She is also a parent and has first-hand understanding of the issues one might have with the family and children.
