Delma Fernandez believes in using an integrative/humanistic counselling approach in order to tailor an environment specific to each client, in which they feel safe to explore difficult and painful issues, knowing that they will be seen, heard and accepted for who they are. Through counselling, Delma Fernandez believes clients can become aware of their ‘life scripts’ (patterns of being) and from a position of self-awareness, access their inner abilities to effectively deal with thoughts and feelings so that life becomes more positive and fulfilling. Modalities such as Transactional Analysis, Gestalt and Family Systems Therapy are among some of the approaches she uses to support her clients on their journeys of self-discovery.
Delma has a background in education, she has held several leadership positions in secondary schools and pioneered an award winning ‘Staff Health & Well-being’ program.
