Approaching therapy can be one of the hardest yet most rewarding & empowering life changing decisions that you could make. Your journey with Deon will develop at a pace that suits you. Deon’s focus is to create an environment whereby together the two of you will unfold and explore your suppressed thoughts, feelings, and emotions, enabling you, if you so choose, to evolve with greater clarity regarding what is best for your wellbeing. Deon’s approach is humanistic integrative counselling, which holistically interlinks the therapeutic methods: Person Centred, which facilitates self-actualisation, Gestalt, which focuses on you and your environment as a whole and Transactional Analysis, which focuses on improving relational issues.

With extensive managerial experience in a caring and challenging profession, Deon has gained invaluable insight into the debilitating effects of life’s struggles and challenges that can feel overwhelmingly stimulating, in particularly pertaining to work and family life combined. Deon is aware of social and cultural barriers that can prevent some individuals from seeking support from a counsellor, and she feels passionately about creating positive awareness and bridging this gap.

Deon is a humanistic integrative counsellor, and she is currently working towards an advanced diploma; she is a member of the accrediting body BACP. Deon works for The Awareness Centre and provides free NHS counselling within Lambeth.
