Dr Michael Eko
Dr Michael Eko is a counselling psychologist with several years’ experience of working in NHS mental health services with people with difficulties like anxiety, depression, panic disorder, relationship difficulties, phobias, chronic pain, obsessive negative thoughts or emotions and so on. The aim of his approach to psychological therapy is to help you develop lasting and effective ways of coping with life challenges.
Dr Eko is trained to work from three evidence based psychological approaches: cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), action and commitment therapy (ACT), and psychodynamic therapy. His work also incorporates Mindfulness-based bodywork.This way of working is also supported by research that shows that effective psychological change involves changes from both the body and brain level.
Dr Eko is a chartered psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and is registered with the Health and Care Profession Council (HCPC) which means that he is trained to the highest possible standard. He offers psychological therapy face to face, from his private practices at The Awareness Centre in Clapham, and on Skype. He is available for a free 10 – 15 minutes conversation about how therapy may be able to help you manage your difficulties in an effective way.
