Dr Stephanie Doig
Dr Stephanie Doig has lived and studied in a number of countries gaining her Masters in Applied Psychology at New York University before completing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in London. She is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and registered with the Health Care Professional Council (HCPC).
Dr Doig provides a warm, calm and compassionate approach to support her clients to move towards their goals. As a parent herself, Dr Doig understands the challenges and pressures that being a parent/caregiver brings and how there can be a need for some extra help and guidance along the parenting journey. When working with children and young people Dr Doig provides a creative and relaxed approach to ensure her clients feel comfortable in order for them to open up.
Dr Doig has over 10 years’ experience of working with children, young people and adults in various settings within the NHS as well as independently. Dr Doig draws on different therapeutic approaches and tailors interventions to meet the clients’ needs based on a shared understanding of the problem. Therapeutic approaches she can work with include but are not limited to cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), systemic, narrative, mentalization based therapy (MBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Dr Doig is also trained in completing Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) and the Autism Diagnostic Interview (ADI).
Dr Doig works in private practice at The Awareness Centre in Clapham.
