Elaine Macgregor aims to provide an empathic, transparent and supportive space where clients can feel safe enough to open up as she believes that each person has their own individual circumstances, uniqueness and reasons for wanting to come to therapy. She strives to provide a safe environment with trust and respect so clients can feel comfortable to talk about anything that is a concern to them, feel empowered and able to move towards growth, wholeness and a better way of living.
Elaine works with an integrative model which means she draws from different approaches to assist her clients’ needs. She believes each individual has the resources within themselves and when they are listened to without judgement, they are able to explore their difficulties, reduce confusion and find a desired way of living.
With a background as a personal assistant and in customer services, Elaine was able to work with people from all different walks of life and gain excellent communication skills.
Elaine has always had an interest in Mental Health conditions from a young age, she is passionate about people’s uniqueness and strengths and had developed empathy and understanding over the years with many volunteer roles with children, the elderly and the homeless. This year Elaine has been also an NHS volunteer responder which allowed her to offer support to many people who were self-isolating, due to the pandemic.
Elaine is an integrative counsellor and is a student member of the BACP. She works within The Awareness Centre’s low-cost counselling service in Tooting and is currently working towards a diploma in integrative counselling.
