Elinor endeavours to provide a welcoming, empathic safe space for people to explore their problems. She understands that life, at times, can get tough. Different issues can arise during our lives whether it is loss, relationship difficulties, stress, anxiety, or depression, and people react to life’s problems in different ways.
For this reason, Elinor is studying integrative therapeutic counseling. In fact, this approach enables her to focus on the client’s needs and adapt the therapy work in a way that is conducive to meeting those needs. Her practice is largely person-centered which means that sessions are client-led, and Elinor focuses on the issues her client present by showing empathy, unconditional positive regard, and being congruent in her work. Elinor also integrates elements from psychodynamic theory.
Elinor is a student member of the BACP, studying integrative counseling, and working towards a diploma in therapeutic counseling. She works within The Awareness Centre’s low cost counselling services in Clapham.
