Emily Telami provides a warm, empathic and non-judgmental environment for her clients to help explore their thoughts and feelings, make sense of conflicting emotions and behaviours, gain a deeper understanding of themselves and reach their true potential. Emily believes in the uniqueness of the counselling relationship and the potential to tap into an individual’s inherent strengths for making their own choices in life. Emily has an integrative approach which means she has several ways of working with clients according to the client’s needs. For example using psychodynamic approach which pays attention to past experiences that may have a negative influence on present life as well as humanistic approach which focuses on here and now.
Emily’s background as an IT developer and project manager in the city has given her experience in workspace issues and conflict resolution. Emily comes from a diverse background, she has lived in various countries with different cultures and religions that has given her an enriched life experience.
Emily is an integrative counsellor and is registered with the BACP. She is currently working towards an advanced diploma in integrative counselling. She works within The Awareness Centre’s NHS counselling service in Lambeth. Emily speaks Armenian and Farsi as well as English. Emily works with people with relationship problems, anxiety, anger, depression, personality problems and work/career issues.
