Emma Lawson
Emma Lawson is passionate about being able to be part of an organisation which provides a safe, confidential space where clients can be heard and seen fully for who they are, rather than who they may be expected to be. Emma believes that counselling should be accessible to all, and that whilst the decision to come to see a counsellor the first time can be nerve-wracking, working with a counsellor you trust can absolutely be your first step to a whole new way of understanding your life, your decisions and your own story. Emma can help to provide support for people who are facing and experiencing change in their life, or who may be struggling to make sense of their world. Change can be hard, whether it be a bereavement, a change in job, a new baby, none or all of these, Emma believes in giving clients the time to explore their feelings. Moreover, Emma believes that in being heard, accepting their feelings, and understanding their past, her clients will learn to trust their own inner voice, and will gain clarity around their relationships.
Throughout her career in the corporate world, Emma has offered confidential support to high powered executives in very demanding, pressurised environments. She therefore fully understands how hectic and complex our lives can be – and fully appreciates the toll that this pressure can take on us and our significant relationships and friendships.
Emma is a trainee integrative counsellor and is registered with the BACP. She is currently working within The Awareness Centre’s Low-Cost Counselling Service in Clapham while working towards a diploma in integrative counselling.
