Eva Shaw is an integrative counsellor, thriving to provide a safe, confidential, non-judgemental and emphathetic space, where clients are able to voice their concerns, problems or any difficulties they are facing. Eva believes that we all have powers within ourselves to resolve our problems. The process of discovering and understanding ourselves can be difficult and at times painful, however, with the right encouragement and support we are all able to do it. Furthermore, we can re-programme ourselves and adopt positive and enhancing coping skills, which ultimately might aid us in reaching our full potential.
Eva is particularly interested in anxiety, depression, self-esteem and isolation and how these issues at times can be closely interconnected and merged together. She also believes in strong mind and body connection and how relaxations methods such as meditation, yoga or simply a walk in the park can boost and bring our emotions to a better equilibrium.
Eva has a background working in the public sector, with a number of years working for NHS. Working with adults as well as children with life limiting conditions or life changing events taught Eva, how people with positive hunger for life can adjust and build a new life for themselves. However, as everyone of us is unique, we are processing the life stresses in different ways. Sometimes we need time and support to find the strength within ourselves to be able to pick ourselves up. Construct new coping mechanisms, which will help us to live and manage difficult emotion and stresses in healthy ways.
As trainee Counsellor, Eva is a student member of BACP and currently working towards Diploma in Integrative Counselling. Eva is currently on placement with The Awareness Centre’s Low Cost counselling service in Tooting.
