Eviane Lazaro recognises that part of being human is that we all experience difficulties and challenges in our lives. When things are hard it can feel difficult to cope alone and we all need someone we can trust to talk to. However, the prospect of talking to a stranger about our problems can be quite daunting but this could be a turning point.

Eviane will explore your issues in depth, making meaning of difficult feelings and patterns and how it may be a call for change. She will provide a confidential, safe, non-judgmental and nurturing space where you can explore what may be contributing to your current difficulties. Eviane will provide you with the opportunity to gain an alternative perspective and explore other options and ways of managing your issues. She believes that for therapy to be productive it must contain the four key elements of empathy, clarification, encouragement and collaboration.

Eviane is a humanistic integrative counsellor meaning that she will draw on numerous therapeutic styles according to your individual needs. She may use Gestalt to you focusing on the here and now and your feelings and needs; Transactional Analyses to support you to achieve healthier relationships; attachment theory to help you understand how you cope with stress and loss. Eviane will support you with regulating your emotions and recovering from traumatic experiences. She may also use CBT to help you to cope with anxiety and depression.

With a background as a support worker working with victims of crime from a wide range of backgrounds, including sexual violence, Eviane can understand how the impact of distressful situations can be life changing. We will work collaboratively to build resilience so that you can move beyond difficult experiences. Eviane also specialises in working with feelings of anxiety, loneliness and sadness and has a particular interest in working transculturally.

Eviane is an attachment-informed humanistic integrative counsellor registered with the BACP. She works in The Awareness Centre’s low-cost counselling service in Tooting and is currently working towards an Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling.
