Gabriela Pelikanova is a friendly and open-minded counsellor working with individuals. Her approach is integrative, which provides an individualised therapeutic environment, anchored in the person-centred and psychodynamic approaches. Clients can expect to have the freedom to explore any subject, present or past, while knowing that the counsellor will support them no matter which path they choose to take.
Gabriela ensures a confidential, safe and non-judgemental space that allows clients to feel calm and comfortable. She believes that empathic listening is a powerful tool that facilitates the foundation of a client-led therapeutic relationship. Gabriela approaches each person as a whole and provides an environment that suits their individual needs.
Gabriela moved to London from the Czech Republic, and worked with children and young people. She has background in the hospitality and leisure industries, as well as childcare. This gave her an understanding of how difficult can it be to maintain a good work/life balance when life gets stressful. Previously working as a ski instructor, her role was to motivate her clients to learn a new skill and overcome their fears, while ensuring their safety on the slopes. Her experience working as a lifeguard inspired and motivated her to pursue her passion for helping others. Gabriela specialises in working with anxiety, sexuality and eating disorders.
Gabriela is an integrative counsellor and student member of the BACP. She is currently working towards an advanced diploma in integrative counselling. She works within The Awareness Centre’s NHS counselling service and sees patients at a GP surgery in Wandsworth.
