Genevieve Collister Brown
Genevieve Collister Brown provides a non-judgemental environment for clients to grow, transform and heal. Working integratively, they tailor their approach to each client, seeing the world through the client’s eyes and then figuring out together what the client wants and how to make that happen. Genevieve is committed to earning client’s trust, focusing on their desires and hopes to enable them to lead more satisfying lives, either as individuals or within couples and relationships.
We’re exposed to many ideas on gender, relationships, sex and sexuality from an early age though many people still struggle to talk openly about their identities, wants and needs. Genevieve believes therapy can provide the space to explore these without shame, being completely client-led. Because of this they have a particular interest in gender, sex, sexuality and relationship diversity such as kink, polyamory, gender non-conformity and LGBTQIA+ related issues. They are also interested in the connections between sex and death, desire and grief and the existential questions that are often framed within the relationships and systems in our lives.
Genevieve has worked for people-based charities and third sector organisations for almost 10 years, championing the voices and needs of people facing homelessness, domestic and sexual abuse, poverty and systemic oppression. Genevieve is an integrative counsellor and is registered with NCP and COSRT. They work within The Awareness Centre’s Low Cost Counselling service in Tooting. Genevieve is currently working towards a level 7 diploma in psychosexual and relationship psychotherapy.
