In life, when we seek support from those who surround us, naturally they will have opinions no matter how supportive they try to be. However, counselling offers a space to those in need of support with acceptance and without the fear of judgement. Through her own personal experiences, Helena Fagoonee understands how scary counselling may sound which is why her first main priority is to provide a safe and confidential environment for her clients to comfortably explore their deep thoughts and feelings.
Helena believes we are our own prime source of information therefore through her person-centred techniques, she embarks on an empathic journey with her clients to uncover their experiences and help them explore the best outcome most suited to themselves.
Helena has developed many years experience working within the mental health industry in a wide range of different settings. This has enabled her to develop a strong understanding of the sector and equip herself with the skills required to provide an integrative approach tailoring her methods to each individual client.
Helena has worked with a diverse range of backgrounds and has been exposed to both minor and severe mental health problems including depression, anxiety, bipolar, paranoia and schizophrenia.
Helena is able to demonstrate active listening by being attentive and attuned to reflect feelings.
Helena is a counsellor and member of the BACP. She is currently working towards a foundation degree in counselling and psychotherapy and works within The Awareness Centre’s low-cost counselling service in Tooting to provide those on low income with the support they need and deserve.
