Holly Gellatley offers a warm, empathic and non-judgemental space for her clients to express their thoughts and feelings.  She believes that we all have difficult times in our life when we may feel lost or unheard and that counselling can help to explore these issues in a confidential and secure way.  Through building a strong therapeutic relationship, she will help her clients gain a greater self-awareness and start to bring about the changes they wish to make.

Holly practices as a humanistic integrative counsellor, where she uses several different modalities to suit her client’s needs.  She employs techniques from the Person Centred approach, Psychodynamic, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and CBT.

She can help clients with issues around anxiety, depression, relationships, family, pregnancy and childbirth, adoption, bereavement and loss, self-esteem, stress, illness and life transitions.

Prior to counselling, Holly studied social anthropology and journalism.  She then worked as a broadcast journalist in news and current affairs for many years and later as a TEFL teacher.  In both careers, it was vitally important to understand the diverse cultural backgrounds of the people she worked with, interviewed and taught.

Holly is currently in her first year of studying a level 4 Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Therapeutic Counselling having already qualified in levels 2 and 3 counselling studies.  She is a student member of the BACP and works within The Awareness Centre’s low-cost counselling service in Clapham.
