Ina Spellings provides a safe and secure space, where empathy, non-judgement and congruence are offered to clients unconditionally. Through her sessions, clients can feel seen, heard and connected with, and as such open up to their true selves. Ina believes that counselling can help clients’ process painful thoughts and feelings whilst developing their untapped potential. Clients have autonomy to follow their own agenda, and alongside Ina, they work together to identify and use their own resources in order to live a more fulfilling life. Ina has an Integrative approach: she uses a blend of techniques in order to offer her clients the best personalised support. Ina uses Transactional Analysis and Attachment to help clients manage their relationships in a better way, Mindfulness to help with anxiety and grounding, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help clients identify patterns in their thoughts and behaviours and find ways to best manage these.
With a varied background in retail, accounting, and education, Ina has both an interest and lengthy experience in managing relationships. She understands that all life and work environments are full of external pressures which connect to internal ones, and this can lead to damaging coping strategies. She works on helping clients understand their own thoughts, feelings and behaviours and identify healthier ways of managing anxiety. She also specialises in abuse, anger, relationships and depression and has a special interest in self-esteem.
Ina is an integrative counsellor and registered with the BACP. She works with patients for The Awareness Centre’s NHS counselling service in Lambeth. Ina is currently working towards her Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling.
