Irma Tarlarini believes in the individuality of human beings, we each have life experiences from birth which affect us in unique ways. Difficult emotions around anger, fear, sexual identity, substance abuse, loneliness, depression, anxiety can stem from past experiences the mind and body find harder to push aside, when striving to maintain normality in our lives. How we balance within, affects the way we relate to our parents, family members, friends, colleagues, all human beings. Irma works with Humanistic and Psychodynamic Attachment theories to support clients in developing deeper understanding of the affect of their life experiences. Working with warmth, positivity and honesty, Irma provides a safe place, believing in the client’s ability to find a renewed energy and balanced way of being, leading to a healthier perspective on their life.

Born in a mixed ethnic and cultural background, Irma is curious about people of all ages, from all backgrounds, understanding the diversity of human beings since her childhood. Irma’s counselling practice alongside her business help her maintain a healthy balance between mind and body. Her personal and professional life continues to develop through researching the effects of trauma on the brain and body, attachment patterns in relationships, and working with young people. She passionately believes in the counselling relationship, enabling each client to speak honestly, with mutual trust and respect, in a safe place, without judgement. She has worked with young people and suicide.

Irma is a trainee counsellor within The Awareness Centre’s Low Cost Counselling Service Clapham, a BACP member, and nearing her final year towards qualifying in Therapeutic Counselling.
