Isabella Ismay provides an empathetic, supportive, and non-judgemental space where clients can feel comfortable to open-up and work through any issues they may have. Relationships are at the heart of Isabella’s approach where she provides a safe, neutral space for clients to explore themselves and their relationship with the world around them. Isabella is an integrative counsellor drawing from CBT, Psychodynamic and person-centred approaches. An integrative approach gives Isabella the ability to access a vast pool of knowledge and techniques that she can tailor to the needs of the client and the provides the ability to work with a range of presenting issues.
Isabella is very interested in how the mind works and how this influences our thoughts, feeling and behaviours and so studied Psychology at undergraduate level. This provided her with a base of knowledge of the psychological theories behind the different therapeutic approaches and is particularly useful when working with mental health. Isabella currently works in a clinical setting within a mental health hospital on an acute ward. Providing her with an understanding of mental health and the challenges those with mental health issues may experience. Isabella also has a background in human resources therefore appreciates the pressures of corporate life and the stress that can come with it. Isabella has a specialist interest in workplace stress and personality disorders.
Isabella is an integrative counsellor working towards a Masters in integrative counselling and is a student member of the BACP and sees NHS patients for counselling in GP surgeries in the Wandsworth area.
