Jana Ferraro provides a safe and non-judgmental space where clients feel supported to explore who they are and what truly matters to them. She helps her clients to learn how to handle personal struggles more effectively and how to work on creating a life that is more meaningful according to their values. Jana uses psychodynamic approach to help her clients understand themselves, identify patterns in relating to self and others, and make changes to manage present challenges. Her approach is tailored to the individual client’s needs, personality and presenting issues.
Jana has experience working with people from various backgrounds and cultures after living in both Europe and Middle East. Her experiences from living in different countries enhanced her appreciation and respect of individual and cultural diversity. She has supported clients to handle topics such as stress, anxiety, depression, panic, low self-esteem, anger management and personal development. With a background in human resource management in corporate environment, Jana has an experience and interest in workplace issues and supports her clients to learn how to handle their internal and external pressures with a focus on improving their wellbeing.
Jana is a Counselling Psychologist in Training, Master level and BSc Psychology graduate and is a member of British Psychological Society (BPS). She works on an open-ended basis within The Awareness Centre’s low-cost counselling service in Clapham. She is currently working towards the Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology.
Jana offers therapy in English and Czech.
