Jolanta Zawadzka has a warm, gentle and non-judgmental presence. She aims to create a safe space for her clients to explore their individual life experiences and choices in a holistic manner. Open and flexible to working with what a client feels is important to them at any given time in their life, she uses a variety of psychotherapeutic approaches, as well as a phenomenological framework, to focus on the question of meaningful living and what it means to each client. She will support them to search for their own creative potential and inner strength, to help them deal with distress and life’s difficulties. She aims to explore client’s relationships with themselves and others, as she believes these are key elements to clients’ wellbeing.
Jolanta has extensive experience of working with young people and adults in variety of mental health contexts in addition to pedagogical specialisms in educational care and therapy. Jolanta is particularly interested in working with clients experiencing trauma, relationship difficulties and parenting issues. She can also help those struggling with bereavement, anger and self-harm difficulties, as well as individuals feeling depressed, anxious, lonely or isolated, or struggling with a loss of meaning and purpose.
Jolanta is a counselling psychology trainee. She works within The Awareness Centre’s low cost counselling service in Clapham. Jolanta is a registered British Psychological Society (BPS) member and is currently working towards her doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy. She offers therapy in English and Polish.
