Josephine Ijeh provides a safe and empathic space where clients feel truly seen and heard. In life we are consumed by ‘noise’ (both within and without) and so she gives her clients the space, freedom and autonomy to simply breathe, pause and unpack the thoughts and feelings of whatever they choose to share in the session. She works congruently, authentically and empathetically with her clients; working together as a team to help them cultivate clarity, awareness and their own innate ability to find fulfilment.
Josephine has a background in education, HR as well as theatre and the arts. She has worked across corporate and creative sectors; private and not-for-profit, but knows that the internal pressures and silent struggles people endure can be found across all walks of life. She understands the coping strategies we can create to ‘muddle through’ but believes that people come to counselling because they want more than this. She believes the relationship we have with ourselves is vital and a fundamental catalyst for change. She works with clients to help them make sense of whatever is troubling them but also allows the space for them to cultivate a deeper understanding of who they are. She also has a background in relationship coaching as well as general mental health and a special interest in body image, eating habits/disorders and the feelings of guilt, shame and low self-esteem that can be triggered in all these areas.
Josephine is a Person-Centred Counsellor and a member of the BACP. The Person-Centred Approach puts the client first and trusts their innate ability to find fulfilment of their own potential within an empathetic environment. Josephine is currently working towards her CPCAB Level4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and is doing a placement within The Awareness Centre’s Low Cost Counselling Service in Tooting.
