Josh Hogan works integratively with clients on issues that they are facing in their lives, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, shame around sexuality, and bullying. Josh will integrate different counselling theories and modalities depending on the issue and the needs of the client. In long term therapy, Josh may work with the client to identify core beliefs that they carry with them and which are holding them back in life. Josh is particularly interested in the impact of the past on the present, and how the wounds of the past can be healed. His priority is to provide clients with a safe space where they feel supported and able to share what they may not have shared with anyone before.
Having previously worked in the charity and voluntary sectors supporting people in crisis, Josh has been with the Awareness Centre for over a year, seeing clients in a GP surgery in Wandsworth. Josh has extensive experience of listening to people and helping them to identify their needs. Josh has particular interest in trauma and the impact that this can have on the person’s daily life. Josh is keen to help clients live healthy, fulfilled lives, and uses mindfulness techniques to promote being in the present.
Josh is an integrative counsellor, focused on psychodynamic, humanistic and cognitive behavioural theory. Josh is a student member of the BACP and works within The Awareness Centre’s low cost counselling service in Clapham, as well as The Awareness Centre’s NHS counselling service in Wandsworth. Josh is currently working towards a Level 4 diploma in integrative counselling.
