Julie Morris offers her clients a safe space to explore the reasons for their anxiety and depression. She sees counselling as a place where a client can talk about their difficulties in a non-judgemental space. Receiving support from someone who will really listen to your concerns and worries will enable you to discover ways to enrich your life and regain some control. Together we can identify where your difficulties may lie and how you can create new coping skills.
Julie has been working with clients who suffer with depression, anxiety and addiction for many years both in a clinical setting and those trying to adjust to different home life or struggling with relationships. This may mean learning new coping skills to understand how to create healthy emotional relationships or dealing with family changes such as bringing a new baby/child into your life, losing a loved one or struggling to be happy with your partner. Research shows that substance addiction can be traced back to attachment deficiencies from the day we are born. Julie has many years of experience supporting clients who reach for a substance rather than trusting their own pleasure instincts to provide enough stimulus to cope with constant life challenges. Her counselling approach is an integrative one which means she uses talking treatments to enable her clients to talk about their current worries and works with clients to gain insight into the source of their concerns.
Julie is a Trainee Integrative Counsellor, registered with the BACP and working towards an Open University Degree. She has a professional background working within law and during the last 15 years has been supporting new parents including those within the LGBT community with attachment and nurturing concerns around coping with their children. Julie draws on personal experience of depression, anxiety and addiction to provide insight into those suffering from emotional issues.
