Karolina Puspacherova provides a non-judgmental, comfortable and safe space to enable clients to freely express their emotions and open up about their deepest inner thoughts. Her belief is that the power of listening and being there for clients empathically can assist them to feel accepted and heard. She considers each client as an individual who has the ability to overcome life’s challenges and find the inward strength to live a more fulfilling life.
Karolina is a trainee integrative counsellor who believes that all approaches have something to offer but a good practice is tailored to the specific client and their needs. Karolina combines person-centred, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and existential approaches. Her belief is that the quality of the relationship between the client and the therapist is the strongest predictor for a successful outcome, regardless of the modality and the therapeutic interventions used.
Karolina has a background of working voluntarily with children in nurseries, with autistics adolescents in primary schools and with the elderly in care homes. By working with a wide age range, she has gained the awareness and reflexivity to attend to the emotional needs displayed by various types of people.
Karolina is currently working towards a BSc counselling degree and is a student member of the BACP. Karolina works within The Awareness Centre’s low-cost counselling service in Clapham.
