Katy has always been interested in people and understands the need to feel heard and listened to free from judgement. She offers a warm and caring space and seeks to build a collaborative relationship based on trust. From her gentle exploration of the client’s story, in conjunction with their innermost thoughts and feelings, she can begin helping a client to gain a deeper awareness of themselves, their relationships and discover new ways to move forward with their life. Looking at both the past and the here & now, Katy adopts an integrative approach to therapy, drawing on person-centered and psychodynamic theories in accordance with the client’s individual needs.

Katy has a background in the music industry where discretion is vital, as is the ability to navigate tricky and challenging relationships. She is understanding of the varied demands and stresses that life imposes, which can often lead to anxiety, depression and self-esteem issues. Katy works to identity positive ways to help cope and manage the emotions connected with these issues. She volunteers at a local food sharing hub where she has the opportunity to meet and chat with people of all ages and backgrounds who are experiencing some sort of hardship in their lives.

Katy is currently working towards completing a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. She is a member of the BACP and works within The Awareness Centre’s NHS Wandsworth.
