Kemi Folarin’s approach to counselling is to provide a safe environment for her clients, placing total focus on their needs, in a non-judgmental space, where they can feel comfortable and understood. Kemi works in an integrative way, which means that she draws upon different modalities, combining the Person-Centred and the Psychodynamic approaches. Kemi’s role in the therapy room is to support her clients to understand what is going on for them, creating a deeper level of awareness and the understanding that they have the inner resource to overcome and achieve their desired outcomes.
Kemi has a background as a CEO of a charity that works with children and young people and has been working in this role for the last 13 years. Kemi has a degree in Psychology and Sociology and a Master in Youth and Community. Throughout her professional career, Kemi has held a passion for helping others to reach their full potential, using a wide range of approaches.
Kemi loves to travel, enjoys reading personal development books and has been part of a public speaking programme for the past 4 years, called Toastmasters International. Personal development, finding your inner voice and working towards being the best version of you is what Kemi is passionate about.
Kemi is a trainee integrative counsellor, currently working towards her Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. She works within The Awareness Centre’s NHS counselling service and sees clients in a GP surgery in Lambeth.
