Lara Charles-Moss empowers and supports her clients through compassionate and attentive listening to identify and meet their needs. Using an integrative approach which combines psychodynamic and humanistic models, she provides a positive space for the client to explore issues in confidence. She employs techniques from Gestalt,Transactional Analysis and CBT; working on a wide variety of issues from relationship difficulties, identity and family dynamics to work stress, anxiety and depression. She believes in the overriding power of the individual to resolve and self-heal through empathic and authentic support from the therapist.
Lara is from a mixed heritage background and grew up in central London. She previously worked in international conflict and urban development in India and Mexico before returning to London and working as a Research Fellow in the War Studies Department at King’s College. She has a strong interest in conflict resolution as well as experience with groups and individuals suffering from deprivation, conflict and trauma. She also has an interest in bereavement and loss; relationships and sexuality; and trauma in children and adults.
Lara has an MA (International Relations) from Sussex University. She is currently working towards her Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (CPCAB – Counselling and Psychotherapy AwardingBody) at Lambeth College, London. She is an integrative psychotherapist and a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Lara currently works for The Awareness Centre where she sees NHS patients at a GP surgery in Wandsworth.
